TAX INCENTIVES: The State of Illinois and the US Department of Labor offer hiring incentives in the form of tax credits for hiring from various targeted groups.

Enterprise Zone Tax Credit Administered by the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity, this tax credit offers various development tax credits.   For a complete listing of the credits available please visit the DCEO website at https://www.illinois.gov/dceo/ExpandRelocate/Incentives/taxassistance/Pages/EnterpriseZone.aspx

Work Opportunity Tax Credit (WOTC) – Offered through the US Department of Labor’s Employment and Training Administration, this federal incentive offers a tax credit for hiring from twelve targeted groups.  These groups have been identified as having significant barriers to employment.  A WOTC fact sheet can be obtained through your nearest BEST, Inc. Illinois Small Business Job Creation Tax Credit- Signed into law April 2010, this tax credit is a one year credit for businesses with fewer than 50 employees that hire new, full time employees during the 12-month period from July 1, 2010 to June 30, 2011.  More information can be obtained from your local Business Services Representative or by visiting http://www.commerce.state.il.us/dceo/jobstaxcredit/default.htm
