How to Become a Member of NCI WORKS

The NCI Works Board consists of 29 individuals representing private business or industry, education, labor and the partner agencies that support the workforce system.  Board members are nominated by leaders in their respective areas, and are appointed by the local chief elected officials (county board chairs) or their designee.

Board member applications are reviewed by a committee of current board members and recommended nominees are forwarded to the Local Elected Officials of each county.  Nominees are recommended based upon available board positions.  Those positions are based upon two key factors:

• required public sector representation, and
• private sector labor market categories, such as manufacturing, and wholesale/retail sales, among others
