Requests for Proposals were sent to local schools and agencies on the Bidders List. The RFPs were issued on February 14, 2022 with a return date of March 14, 2022.

S.R.A.V.T.E. (Starved Rock Associates for Vocational & Technical Education)
Members of the NCI Works Committee and Business Employment Skills Team, Inc. staff reviewed and rated each of the proposals. Education Outreach Program (Regional Office of Education #47)
The Educational Outreach Program provides youth (17-24 years old) with academic instruction toward the attainment of a high school equivalency certificate, career information, job search assistance, paid work experience, job shadowing, supportive services and training for in-demand occupations to help them to obtain and retain permanent employment. The program plans to serve 80 youth from Lee, Ogle and Whiteside counties who have dropped from high school. Site locations include Sterling, Oregon and Sauk Valley Community College. The program is administered by the Lee, Ogle and Whiteside Regional Office of Education. Grant: $182,935.00. Contract Duration: July 1, 2022 – June 30, 2023.
Regional Work Study (Regional Office of Education #35)
The Regional Work Study program provides youth (16-21 years old) with employment opportunities and academic instruction toward the attainment of a high school diploma. The program plans to serve 22 youth from LaSalle and Putnam counties who have dropped from high school and desire a high school diploma. Instruction is provided at Illinois Valley Community College in Oglesby and in Ottawa. The program is administered by Regional Office of Education #35. Grant: $125,075.84. Contract Duration: July 1, 2022 – June 30, 2023.
Step Ahead (Bureau Henry Stark Regional Office of Education)
The Step Ahead program provides youth (16-24 years old) with academic instruction toward the attainment of a high school diploma or high school equivalency certificate, paid work experience and job shadowing. The program plans to serve 23 youth from Bureau County who have dropped from high school. Instruction is provided, usually one-on-one, at the local library in each youth’s community. The program is administered by Bureau Henry Stark Regional Office of Education. Grant: $83,357.25. Contract Duration: July 1, 2022 – June 30, 2023.
